How To Protect Your Manufactured Home from Theft

People who live in manufactured homes are not exempt from the startling statistics regarding burglaries in the United States. In fact, some manufactured homes are at greater risk because they are owned by "snow bird" retirees who leave them vacant part of the year. Their empty homes are often tempting targets for thieves. But it doesn't stop there - break-ins are also increasing even when the home is occupied. That's why it's important for anyone who owns a manufactured home to know what they can do to help prevent burglaries.

You can remove your home from the "easy mark" list when you take precautions to keep thieves away. While there's no foolproof way to stop every break-in, most home burglaries can be avoided. If you make entry difficult, a thief might decide that whatever you have isn't worth it. Burglars need to work quickly. They know the more time it takes to break into your home, the greater the odds they will be caught. Remember, if you increase the risk to a potential intruder, the chance of a home invasion is greatly decreased.
