It’s been over a year since Don and I moved to our brand new home in a 55+ manufactured home community. During this time I’ve shared my e-journal with people who are interested in our personal experiences as first time manufactured home buyers. I wrote about the surprises, fun, challenges and opportunities we faced during our journey toward this new lifestyle.
No move to a new home is ever perfect. Don and I had a few problems along the way and I wrote about how those problems were smoothed out, as well as how we solved some initial manufactured home clean up challenges.
A later entry in my e-journal describes how and why our home is appreciating rapidly in value after owning it for only a year. I also attempted to help expose unflattering and untrue myths about manufactured homes and the people who live in them. With a little humor I wrote about how surprised and awed some of our friends and relatives were when they first stepped into our beautiful, stylish and spacious manufactured home.
I completed writing my e-journal with an entry about how Don and I now have more freedom from home maintenance to enjoy travel and leisure activities.
Thank you for your interest and comments regarding our personal experience as first time manufactured home buyers. Although there will no longer be regular entries to my e-journal, look for all existing entries of “Colleen’s Chronicles” in the Buying and Selling resources section of MyGreatHome®.
And, don’t be surprised if you see a new entry every once in a while as Don and I continue to learn about and enjoy our manufactured home and 55+ retirement community.
